Grapes!

Well, if they were there yesterday I didn't notice them...this morning I spy tiny grapes appearing on one of the vines!

Dutifully filled two hanging baskets left behind by the people who used to live here...I'll hang them at the front of the house later or tomorrow, or some time.

A few cherry tomatoes ... two of the other tomato plants (besides the plum tomatoes which are doing really well) are also beginning to produce fruit - 'Moneymaker' is one and I think the other is 'Alicante' but the label has fallen off so not sure what's what. Proud of the tomato efforts to date, anyway. :-)

Later - taking a closer look at photos in earlier posts I notice the grapes were there as early as
7th June! - not very observant of me, then.

Strawberries and potatos - that's all the potatos! We already had one meal from the potato harvest a couple of weeks ago, and this is the rest. Very nice - I'd probably need to plant up a container about every two weeks to grow enough to be useful.

The strawberries are lovely, but again that's all there are for the time being - more growing but they are not ripening yet. No, didn't eat them (all) myself. :-)

Sunday 21 June 2009

Loads of tomatoes coming now, plum and cherry so far.

Peas doing nicely, if only a few.

Peppers are go.

Petunias are doing nicely outside now.

As are all the lilies, my favourites...fourth year for some of these, I think.

All your greenhouse are belong to us...onions trying their best.

Sightings...

The peppers are beginning to grow.....

Today also saw the first sighting of a plum tomato...

And of another....

First peek at the (Charlotte) potato harvest - it'll be a while until the rest catch up in size.

Peas in a pod; first sighting of these today too.

The Strawberries are coming along, too....mmm.

Sunday 7 June 2009

Lettuce leaves...we're eating these every day now. Mmm....

Petunias beginning to flower...

Busy Lizzies, too - I've moved a lot of these, along with most of the petunias and geraniums, outside.

One of the Black Hamburg vines - I'm going to leave this one growing in the greenhouse and have put one of the other two into the conservatory - they are all doing well, despite I'm probably over-watering them.

Marigolds, meant to be protecting the tomato plants from bugs - so far, so good. :-)

First taste of the mixed lettuce leaves, and it was good. :-) Still haven't planted the cucumber, radishes or zinnia seeds.

Don't know why the picture has displayed sideways but don't have time to reupload it now (Blogger sometimes does that and usually I end up uploading the picture into Google Pictures and then linking to it in order to have it show the right way round...just one reason why some people don't stick with Blogger...ah, well, who minds an odd hiccup for free?)
